Travel Notes

$16.00

Travel Notes can be understood in two ways: as a collection of written experiences from a journey or as a reflection of how melodies move and evolve through different musical landscapes.

This album is undoubtedly my most personal. It is a tribute to my late father, François (1946–1987), who circumnavigated the world twice with the French Navy. Through his travel stories, he instilled in me a deep curiosity for discovering new places and cultures. Inspired by this legacy, the album brings together music from France, China, Thailand, Italy, Turkey, Australia, Cameroon, Brazil, England, the USA, and finally Peru, featuring a masterful guitar arrangement of the Inca dance Las Vírgenes del Sol by Jesús Castro-Balbi an exceptional teacher during my studies at the Conservatoire of Lyon in France.

The repertoire includes pieces that have accompanied me on my tours, such as Prélude No. 1 by Heitor Villa-Lobos (Brazil), as well as music composed for me, like La Romance d’Ingrid by Jean-Jacques Fimbel (France). The album also features arrangements dedicated to me, including Duan Pen (Missing Home) arranged by Pongpat Pongpradit (Thailand) and Shallow by Lady Gaga, arranged by Sergio Valenzuela (Mexico). The remaining tracks are musical souvenirs: pieces I discovered and carried home with me while traveling the world with my guitar.
